My Two Cents

Until My Name is Known is a wonderful depiction of the story of Moses and how God helped Moses and the Jews get out of Egypt.  Although it’s a fictional story, Contreras brings together the real men who were part of this story and adds in additional characters that pull the reader in.  She has given descriptions about the plagues that allow the reader to really feel the pain and agony that the Egyptians suffered.  When the boils attacked the Egyptians, Contreras described what they looked like, how they oozed open, and the pain the people suffered.  She even described some of the deaths the characters suffered through.

Until My Name is Known is a great novel that reminds the reader how much God loved and continues to love, His people.  He purposely hardened Pharaoh’s heart because He wanted the Egyptians to see that He was the One True God.  The people hit with the different plagues shouted out to their gods to take the plagues away, but quickly saw that the gods were not helping them in any way.  They began to question God and how it was that He could make all these plagues take place.  They would see that the Jewish people were unaffected by the plagues and questioned why.  Their eyes were slowly being opened.

I give Until My Name is Known 4/5 stars.  I found it to be a wonderful read and couldn’t wait to see what would happen next.  This novel will be passed around to the ladies at my church.

I received a complimentary copy of Until My Name is Known from Litfuse Publicity Group to read and review.  I did not receive any monetary compensation.
